Colonel Francis Quinn of Niles led the 12th Michigan Infantry into action in the Battle of Shiloh. However, his incompetence and quarrelsome personality led to disaster, so much so, that Michigan Governor Austin Blair dubbed him “The worst colonel I ever saw.” This program will allow guests to follow Quinn and his command through one of the war’s bloodiest battles.
Bob Myers from the Historical Society of Michigan, will appear at the North Berrien Historical Society to present “‘The Worst Colonel I Ever Saw’: Francis Quinn and the Battle of Shiloh.”
This program is reserved for Society members and will follow the Annual Meeting & Dinner.
The cost to attend is $25 per person. To RSVP, call (269) 468-3330. If you are not already a member and are interested in attending, details on how to join can be found here.
